April was busy!
April has been so busy. I was selected to participate in the Print fair at Printopia this year. I have never done anything like this to promote my work before and so there were a lot of unknowns. I planned 3 new prints for the event, but due to sickness and other family commitments I only completed 2. I will have the 3rd completed next month, I think.
Printopia was the first weekend of May. Wow! What a positive experience. I met so many of you there and feedback was so positive. I am keen to do both days next year and try to have some new work, but this year most of my sales were older works I had almost given up on. So just because things don’t sell, doesn’t mean they are not worthy. It just means the right person hasn’t seen it yet.
The Printmaking community in New Zealand is alive and thriving. They are a broad range of fascinating and inspiring people, who are really open and willing to offer advice or answer your questions to assist you on your way to become a better printer.
Thank you to all of you I met and came up to my table to say Hi.
I met people who had brought my work off this website, in a café and others who follow me on Instagram. I was so inspired that the artwork I love making is also loved by other people, even enough that they would spend their hard-earned money to purchase it for their homes. You all made my day even better.
